Stock up on you cottage cheese, however questionable that choice is and be safe.
I did and I got her milk b4 the river got across the road this time :)
This is a foreign concept for me, even with the Pecos River running right through town. Praying for protection over your family, town, property and road.

Thank you. For me on the hill it's just inconvenient. But our property can still suffer leaks and foundation issues.
The flood wall was constructed 82 yrs ago.
Does nothing for me where I live.
Flood stage is 50 ft minir 55 moderate and 59 major flooding. IDK the prediction for the Ohio in Huntington but fliod stage is sane in Cattletsburg KY which is closest point to WV..They are predicting 53.4 ft so minor flooding in town.
Here on the Mud River this means a longer higher crest.

My mother is just east of Cincinnati in the Cumberland River area, but it doesn't look too bad for her.

Meanwhile in New Mexico, Mother Nature is the Queen of Indecision, and winter isn't leaving without a fight.

Not helping w the flood cleanup.
Pike county KY hit hard. 13 dead so far in KY
2 in WV. Expecting number to rise.
Our rainfall was 2.1" here which was a relief.
Ohio River at Huntington cresting above flood stage now. Expected to drop below FS tomorrow evening.

I've seen as much as 40ºF ambient temp variance in a single day, rare as it is here.
Several 30º variance days recently. Even though that 100º diff is windchill vs ambient,
that's a whopping whiplash in a 5 day spanse. Here comes the transition season.
Tuesday was a hard hitter.

It was wind-chill but it wasn't windy. Maybe 5-8 mph. It was crazy cold and gross. I'll move south someday when my kids are grown 😀
Open to recommendations!
