Seeking ideas about my new Satsuki Yuki Azalea

Chose what you think will work best for you. Either way, properly kept, these will be the scissors you will use for a long time!

I’ve used the 228, not the bud scissors. However I don’t own these, they were loaned to me to try out.

Honestly I couldn’t tell the difference between the Kaneshin and Musakuni and I do a lot of scissor work. I don’t use bud scissors most of the time, even though we have a couple pair. instead I use SS bent nose tweezers. It’s quicker, and more exact most of the time.

cheers

Thanks for your reply!

To be frank, any of these would work for me, so on a practical level it makes zero difference. I just love blades of all sorts and started collecting knives years before I knew what a bonsai was. So for me, procuring unique cutting blades is a hobby in and of itself.

Grow the tree out in the ground or nursery pot to achieve a nice trunk, as the tree gets bigger you will have more options to chose, I would say informal or slant style, at this point you have a long way to go if you really want something nice, I try not to prune much at this stage unless it’s really necessary because it hinders speedy growth
