Hi there,
I bough a Ficus retusa tiger bark a couple of days ago.
After discussions with Chad and Fortknox on this forum I decided the style I'd like to give it.
Also thanks to Chad I learned its name (retusa tiger bark).

As I saw one could post paintings, sketches and so of his thinking regarding his tree here they are.
First a general view then a close-up.

and in order for you to see it as I saw it here are the elements.
The tree, of course, duh, but also the rock and the pot for the color, not the for size, should my project go to its beginning (the tree in a bonsai pot) I would have had the time to do the economies for the actual pot ;)

I also recently found a Tiger Bark at our local Wally store, all for 14.95. Mine is in a moss like soil and I have not re-potted it. What type of soil is yours in? Progress pics would be nice.

mine is in training pot for the moment and I used the soil mix recommended by Brent (Evergreen nursery) for small training pots: 8 pars perlite, 8 parts pine bark, 1 part sphagnum moss + osmocote fertilizer (14/14/14)

I use this mix for all my trees in training (well, for all my tress are they are all in training;)), I have a juniper, acacias, maples, one alder and mulberries and they all seem to really like it! :)
