Hi There,
I have a rather large (25 cm to 1 foot diameter) lilac in my yard I want to get rid of (and keep in a pot of course).

The tree just started to bud and I'll prune it drastically.
Is it the good time to collect?
I was thinking: the tree is full of energy, I take it, prune it, pot it and all this energy will help it to send new grows and establish it self in the pot.

But my be I'm wrong and the best time will be some other time...
What do you guys think?

Sounds like a good plan to me. Lilac is a member of the Olive family. Spring is a good time to collect and prune. If your lilac is a foot in diameter then it must be pretty old. I hope you have a huge pot!

I have a huge pot :)
I don't have the nicest soil possible though... :(

Will see, this week-end or the next one with a better soil:cool:
