Repotting help with my BRT

I definitely wouldn't repot it. If anything maybe cut it way back. You could cut one side off where it forks. Should help create some taper and it will use less resources temporarily to help with immediate recovery. When I repot mine I always prune hard first.

I'm thinking I might get it back into organic soil for now to save it...
Sometimes they sulk after a repot, I wouldn't worry about it that much. Repotting back into organic soil would be counterproductive.

I'm a bit late here but as someone said , can't remember who ATM, I also re-pot mine around July 4th. I use to re-pot mid to end of July but where I am the weather cools too early to get good growth before they come in for the winter. They like to stay above 70 deg after re-pot for 4 weeks or so. I also defoliate the trees but leave the petiole, doing this also encourages back budding. Been doing this for 26 years or so. They seem to have no issue with massive root work when doing this. I also mix in about 5% chopped Sphagnum moss but they seem to grow in just about any bonsai mix.

Yeah I definitely was early, but here in south florida it hasn't dropped much below 65 or 70 the last couple of weeks. I added some chopped sphagnum moss, seemed to work well with my other repots. Next time I will probably defoliate but for now I'm just getting it healthy again. Will also wait until summer....thanks for the help!
