I see a lot of people using Texas scarlet. How does it compare to chojubai? How does the leaf size compare?

I'm thinking shohin size, so smaller leaves are better, but I also assume texas scarlet grows more quickly. The extra vigor would be nice.

Night and day different. Chojubai has more compact, smaller foliage.

I have a white Chojubai and it's vigorous for its stature.
Thanks, I'll wait for a chojubai. I know white is more vigorous but I like the red flower... Is the Texas scarlet foliage notably bigger?

Here in Oregon I find the chojubai are more sensitive to cold weather and the Texas scarlet are a lot tougher and can be bought in any nurseries. Foliage are bigger then chojubai.

I think I'll look for a chojubai or hime. I see Bill valavanis is selling a chojubai but it's a little on the expensive side

They're more challenging but they can make a pleasant tree still. All quince thicken at a snail's pace.
