I just started taking a ceramics class. I've also been doing a bit of independent homework, looking into both fundamental information and anything I can about good techniques and methods for making bonsai pots.

For any of our potters: what good useful resources have you found that have helped you to learn better ways to create your bonsai pots?
Or what personal tips and observations would you share?

I'm really curious about ways to create good, consistent repeated forms, such as feet, for example. I've seen with wheel throwing (which I won't be doing for some time) where the base is thrown much thicket, then later the pot is inverted to carve out the center, leaving an outer rim to carve down for feet.

But what about hand made forms, like slab construction or free form? I've seen some videos with Japanese pot making where feet are formed from plaster molds.

Full explanation with out words, he has a bunch of videos on YouTube.
Thanks Brian! I've already watched a number of Gregg Ceramics videos, they've definitely been among the best I've found for slab construction. Though I've seen some pretty neat older videos from Tokoname, but most of their hand construction seems to be using molds.

And I also found a cool old pair of Chuck Iker videos, but those are for wheel throwing a pot. I'll probably look at wheel throwing as my next class.

Found another good hand built slab assembly video:
