Prunus Kojo no Mai wiring

Nice! They can be wired pretty much any time, I've found mine to be a fairly slow grower - so not hugely susceptible to wire bite.

I've got a prunus i found int a field that looks just like this, except it never flowers. I'm thinking its a choke cherry or other species though. Do anything special to it, to get it flowering?

Relatively slow in pot but grows very fast in ground. I have some I am digging now that went from about 8 inches to 30 inches or so in 3 years.

This is a cultivar of Prunus incisa .It has a naturally twisty habit of growth. Its commonly sold in garden centres here. No special treatment - just slow release fertiliser once a year . I find Prunus Kojo no Mai is slow growing in a pot and its foliage tends to get scorched by strong sun in late summer so I keep in part shade from July till leaf fall.
