Projects from Kanorin's backyard

I’ve got a nice long sacrifice branch on that JBP to thicken the trunk. My question is: Any advantage to reducing down from 7 to 1 or 2 buds at the apex of the sacrifice? Thinking that reducing to 2 buds, the tree will put lots of energy into those buds and they will make very large extensions? Anyone tried this?

The main bud will get all the energy instead of it being shared across a few up top. It will also help with stability. The sacrifice will straight up instead of side branches catching wind and wobbling all over.

How is the Seiju? I had one that I stuck in the ground for 5 years. It corked up nicely. It’s been in a grow box for the last 3.

I put it in the ground last year - hasn’t changed too much, but I bet next year it will extend 2 feet.

Was going through some photos today, which angle do people prefer for this nursery stock serviceberry
