Dawn Redwood, while considered one of the 3 living redwood species, its growth habit is more like a Bald Cypress, Taxodium distichum than a Sequoia. or a Coast redwood. In China they can be found in areas prone to flooding for a period every year. They need more water than either of the other redwoods. That drip tray as is, is just fine. Don't change what you are doing. Good roots, will give you good growth.

Repot as planned in Spring.

I'll be back in town after Aug 10, will have time to get together, maybe go to the Midwest show at CBG together. Sorce, you in?
