Keshitsubo: 1-3" (3-8 cm)

Shito: 2-4" (5-10 cm)

Mame: 2-6" (5-15 cm)

Shohin: 5-8" (13-20 cm)

Komono: 6-10" (15-25 cm)

Katade-mochi: 10-18" (25-46 cm)

Chumono / Chiu: 16-36" (41-91 cm)

Omono / Dai: 30-48" (76-122 cm)

Hachi-uye: 40-60" (102-152 cm)

Imperial: 60-80" (152-203 cm)

Except for shohin (and, of course Hachi-uye in this hay fever season) I've never used or heard anyone use those terms in 40 years of bonsai.

It is rare but Keshitsubo is still seen. I suspect because it is so difficult to maintain. Either way it is valid and of Japanese origin. Not hard to learn about with a Google search. Not being a smart ass, just trying to be informative and share...

Yes, we all have nothing better to do so we post a ridiculous amount of nonsense in an effort to move up the ladder another rung. See, I'm one more post closer to ?????? What's after Omono?

I don't know but I'll race ya! I even took two years off from the Nut House!

When I share...I always state my inexperience...under two years in bonsai. I asked a lot of questions back when I started...sort of like a chicken with running with their head chopped off. I wanted to be a sponge...I've grown...learned a few things. But, never share without telling ones of my stage in bonsai. Because of my title from posts I've done or commented on.
