my houseplant hobby is pretty dominated by nepenthes and orchids, so here's some nepenthes photos from today of some recently or about to open pitchers

first is nepenthes (burbidgeae x campanulata) finally getting ready to pop a pitcher after 3 months of me having owned it

second is a nepenthes briggsiana that opened a few days ago

third is a nepenthes (song of melancholy x boschiana) I've had about a year that's starting to display some more mature characteristics (some wider peristome flair and a bit of a color gradient)

Dude, I've been looking for the pinguin for a minute before I noticed that.. This is indeed not a Nature's Leif Penguinson search picture.
Nature, the magazine-thingy, has this weekly post where they hide a pinguin in pictures of nature scenes. Sometimes, they're pretty hard to find. Your pictures remind me of the ones Nature uses, and I mean that as compliment!
Here's the original article, not sure where the new ones are posted though. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03610-9

I've had a few drinks and smoked some herbs, but you mean penguin right? The 'E' key on your phone is broke, or my brain is, or both. :)

Cantwell cliffs, tougher hike but not too bad, pics of the pathways.

Squeeze through another, Ohio makes my calves hurt. :)

Had a construction meeting down in Lacey township the other day. I didnt rush back to the office after the 1.5 hour drive for a 20 min meeting. This is out at the tip of Laurel Harbor overlooking the bay. There is a memorial to a fallen coast guardsman there.

Sorry, I used the Dutch spelling instead of the English. It should be penguin.

Haven't lived there in 30 years, but I spent the majority of my early childhood in Ohio, and I forget sometimes how amazing some of it is.
The State Parks we visited were really beautiful, and Hocking hills, with Old mans Cave & Cantwell Cliffs being my favorites for hiking. First time I've been down there but it was a great time with all the kids coming, and we got great weather.

Never saw so many root over rock trees in one spot, most of them were down in the gorge of Cantwell Cliffs.

After more than 10 years of focusing on other things, I decided it was time to pick an old hobby back up. My first victim: me.

Not great, but after such a long time and in such a weird posture (left side of the left leg) it's decent training.
Two more hours to go!

Allllso!!!

Trumpets and loud hide drums signal my voyage from the valley, back to our lil nook here, in the Tiny Forest.

I have been away some time. My goblet runneth over with joy, upon seeing thine faces. Mixed about, intermingling with the familiar Woody Dwarves. Tis good to be in this corner of the woods, again.

I'll start the fire, I brought meat and herbs from the valley.

🤓
