Hello,
So I’ve been tinkering around with a couple free versions of plant verification apps. Like: Picture This, Flower Checker, Plant Snap, etc..

Before I ante up for the full version of any, I thought I’d ask opinions on, and/or preferences.
thanks.

Virginia Tech Dendrology online and/or mobile app. The mobile app downloads the reference data. It eats memory but you don't need a cell connection to use it in the field.
Awesome! Thanks for this.
Yeah the ones I’ve tried are pretty cool but I don’t get the ID till I find WiFi again.
Would be slick when off the beaten path, to know what your looking at!

My brain is the best app I've found.
Use a book.
There may come a time you need to know a plant and the fancy phone has no service.
Books are easier and cheaper.

iNaturalist, hands-down the best app. They have great AI-based plant identification. With globalization of plant species thanks to us humans, local plant ID resources may not be as reliable—even if you can do dichotomous keys which tend to focus on locally native species.
