New year means new projects. I've been wanting to put together some clumps for a while now. I grew out a few flats of JM just for this project. Total of 8 clumps with 7 trees per clump.
Large and small seed JM

Preparing the pot with window screen to prevent the substrate from coming out the drainage holes.

Here I'm grouping them in preparation for zip tying them together, this will create a tighter clump when they fuse at the base.

Here they zipped together.

Now I have to choose the correct size washer to thread them into.

Threading them through the washer.

Washer is now set.

If you prefer a looser style clump just snip off the zip tie after you've threaded them through the washer. You can then rearrange them however you prefer.

I also did one clump using 'Bloodgood' cuttings. I think a red leaf clump would look pretty sharp.
