Can someone help me ID this pine. It was collected in the 4 corners area of New Mexico. My plant ID app says either Red Pine or Shortleaf Pine, but then says neither species is native to that area?? First picture is after collecting others are current pictures. Thank you!

After some googling now I m thinking it's a Ponderosa Pine. If someone can confirm this?

My best guess is also ponderosa, though I'm no expert. There are only a couple other species of long-needle pine native to Colorado, but the others tend to be higher altitude trees, with tighter bunched fascicles. Ponderosa is by far the most prevalent and widespread of them as well.
