PhunGars Japanese Maple progression thread

Figured i'll post a progression since its nice to look back and see how far the trees have developed in my care.

A large japanese maple that i aquired in 2023. Nice bones to begin with came in a 40cm Nursery can, probally grown in the ground at some stage given how coarse the roots were

Did some wound healing and took some better photos when i got it back home and into yard.

First repot into a wooden box 2023

Amazing how many roots i got after 1 year in recycled inorganic mix. Did some roots grafts from seedlings off Shibui and into Mizushoen pot. Would have been better if i put it back into the grow box for another few years but couldn't stand staring at the box.
