Orion_metalhead - Celtis Africana - #1

Oh that's cold, devious but well played. 👍
I'll catch up with you, how can I not? I have internationally renowned (Ok he is partially known throughout some of my small suburban backyard) superstar Twiggy Tom on my side.

Looks like they are off to a great start. I so far have 2 C. Occidentalis germibated in my grow tent. One of they have already has their true leaves expanding. Still waiting to see if I was successful in skipping the cold strat with the others.

Today:

I watered/fertilized with liquid miracle grow at like... 1/4 strength as I have been doing every two or three waterings. I also added some wire and movement to three of the seedlings' trunks.

After bringing outside earlier this week when there were no more forecasted freezing days, I uppotted these today into individual pots. Havent decided which will be #1, however I will create individual threads for all 9 when Im sure they survive the repot.

This is these a few days ago. Lost.a handful to random acts of toddler violence so I have... three or four left. One was basically snapped off at soil but is reaprouting.

Today, these have been growing strong since day 1. Really happy with the turn out on them. I'm going to treat these like a tropical so I'll be bringing them inside for the winter once temperatures start to dip into the 40's. Believe (5) of these made it so far surviving the squirrels and my daughter ripping a couple out at some point. The ones I wired seemed to do ok. One was chewed down to a nub and resprouted.

Nice! Celtis will sucker from the roots so being cut/chewed down to a tiny stump usually won’t kill them 👍🏻
