ok, what am i doing here.... i need some direction with my ficus b. (w/pic)

Do you keep your orchids on the kitchen table?

Oh lord no, I'd have no where to eat lol. I have 15 orchids, most of them stay in my west facing bay window with the blinds turned open about half way.

you should in the general forum, start a new thread
asking for Bonsai nurseries in you area... I am
quite sure there are alot !!! As well as Bonsai Clubs.

You might try Private Messaging Smoke, I believe
he is up in Northern California. He is always posting
about Bonsai Conventions up your way...

Thank you I'll check it out. I do know of 2 places, one is usually closed when im in the area *grr* and the other place are outrageous. Like $20 for a prebonsai juniper.... iono maybe I don't know bonsai prices... I know they're expensive but they're outrageous. And I think the prebonsai juniper is just a cutting using some rooting compound, which is fine, but if its just a rooted cutting I wouldn't pay that much.

I have a library on my phone.... they call it the internet

And the Internet is the absolute worst place to find reliable information on just about anything. It is there, but you have to already know a lot to be able to recognize it.

BOOKS (remember them?) have editors and they don't stick around long if they're no good. Crap gets posted on the Internet and it is there screwing things up forever.

Lighten up. It was a joke.

1. Ha Ha
2. To those for whom English is a second or third language -- and there are a few on these lists -- you probably were taken quite seriously.
3. And, alas, there are a growing number of young (and even not-so- young) people who have bought so heavily into the I'net that they take everything written here as holy gospel.

I don't take it as gospel, but it definitely can be a big help. What I take more as gospel is talking with a wide variety of people who know the hobby well. They have had success and fails and can share them with you. That's why I'm a bit of a forum junkie. I post on reef forums, orchid, hair care, bonsai, pigeon racing forums.... just about any of my interests/hobbies, I've been sussessful in because I've learned from people who learned from other people. Not to say I won't pick up a book, but I think theres value in talking to a bunch of people who have had success, rather than one guy who decided to write his experiences in a book.

Just my 2 cents
