I had a few moments to spare so I started applying some moss to my bark that will cover the entire back of the enclosure. I hope it spreads over time.
Think I can do assembly tonight and plant a piece of pothos too.

It’s a Gooty Sapphire or Poecilotheria metallica, still very young, but one day it should be blue all over
Nice! I thought so when I saw the blue. I worked with one at a pet store when I was young. Those things are aggressive, but pretty!

Glad you went for the bark instead of a tree - I think it'd be easier to clean.

Do tarantulas do well in constant humidity?

I’ve always hated money plants and money trees, but I had to settle for a money plant this time for its low light tolerance. Spidey has gotta do 1 more molt before I can add him because the ventilation holes are too big, but the plants can settle in now, and I was just too damn excited to get building

ps @Sunwyrm I know even this one is very flighty, every time I just touch its current enclosure...6E8E4E23-C6AE-4172-A0C0-4629EC56739B.jpeg

@AZbonsai they do well in up to 80% humidity depending on species, and this particular one is native to a monsoon zone. Also, since they hardly ever actually drink water and never apply any lotion, they need a bit of humidity. That is why desert species only come out at night and hide away in the daytime.
