Nursery score of the month?!?

Found this absolute gem deserted in a corner of a small nursery and I saved it for the extravagant amount of €8 (~$9)!!! They didn't know the exact species but they told me its in the jasmine family. Any one knows better the variety? Secateurs for scale. I couldnt believe my eyes

Its quite rootbound, probably been in that pot for several years. Who agrees to just saw the bottom half of roots off? Give me your ideas !

Nice score! The leave do look like a Jasmine. I'm awful at identifying trees, but my guess is Jasminum sambac. I'd also cut the root ball in half like you mentioned, but only in Spring.
