Picked this little feller up for $15 today. Got it for practice and because I can't help but buy stuff to fart around with until I get a better feel for design and wiring and such. No idea on the variety, only that he told me it was a Green Japanese Maple variety. I'll post updates as I work on this one, but any commentary is appreciated.

This looks like a great find for 15 bucks. It's the standard Japanese Maple variety and can stand a good bit of work this spring. I can see a multitrunk tree there or perhaps splitting it into a double trunk (2 right trunks) and using the third as a separate tree.

Again, all my own personal opinion. Looks like fun work ahead!

Here is a thread I started for a nursery maple of my own: http://bonsainut.com/forums/showthread.php?14206-Nursery-Japanese-Maple
