That's one funny GIF!! And exactly (well minus the peanut angel move) how I was yesterday. Pot arrived safe and sound and it is beautiful! I will try and take close ups when I can. There is a subtle moss green glazed washed along the edge that looks really nice. Now it just needs a couple of trees!
Just sharing a few shots I took today. Gathering all the material and hopefully I can put it all together in a week or so if weather cooperates. I like the subtle touches of the moss green glaze.
This is how it got started. With a sketch and then a very simple and half-baked paper model to give me an idea of proportions and size. I found this to be very helpful!
Here is the sketch. I had sent this to Roy so that he could do his thing.
This was a fun project to be part of. I really can't wait to see the finished product. I added the slight green to add a bit of interest in silhouette, mirror foliage in summer, and really set off the color of fall...
So glad to see it made its arrival without mishap! Very interesting to see the beginnings of how this came about. I am trying to patiently await it's reveal. But it's like Christmas anticipation.
Roy did an exceptional job...that glaze is the bomb! Now to see you work your magic.
Thanks Matt. Indeed is a very good pot! Roy has been great to work with and a nice guy to boot! Matt O. is sending an additional batch of 50 maple seedlings in addition to the 80 that I already have. I have a few larger trees including the main one. Unfortunately I could not get any Korean hornbeams so the idea of a multi species planting may be scrapped. I am ok with just maples. I can also introduce other species at a later point.
My window is rapidly closing. Trees have stalled because of the very cold weather but are ready to go!
