OK,
This is a tree that was bought in a nursery can a couple of years ago. I don't have any old pics but here are two about a year apart. I removed a couple branches on the left side. I angled the oval pot in the pic from today because I am planing on changing the angle in the spring.

Very nice. How big was it when you bought it?

Hi NYBonsai12,
Thanks for the reply.
It was only a couple years ago that I got the tree. It already had good trunk movement. It was real bushy. I removed some of the branching and wired the rest. It had some decent branch movement right from the start. A lot of bonsai people in my local bonsai club are not procumbens fans, but I like working with them and they are readily available here.

Hello Tona.. Procumbens make fantastic bonsai.. However, 2 things have detered some people from them. One, is that they are the staple for creating Mallsai. Two, it takes more effort to create nice foiliage. However, if you don't let that stop you, they make incredible bonsai. I have seen a couple of shohin ones that were absolutely stunning.

The pic with the tan concrete background is the current angle and condition of the tree, correct? I like the image very much. All I would like to add is something about the apex. The apex is, a bit large for the tree. However, that is not the issue. Right now, there seems to be quite the chaotic branch configuration making up the apex. In time, you are going to have a difficult time maintaining it. You will probably have to cut where you shouldn't and some of those branches, that are crucial to the design, might end up dying. In my opinion, I would just have maybe 3 branches that make up the apex. Then in time, when it fills out, since the internal structure is good. All you will have to do is proper pruning, to maintain the silhouette and maybe a bit of clean up in the notches.
