Pictures of the tree styled and in a new pot. Tree is only 19" tall with an 8" nebari and 23" canopy. My newest favorite tree.

Beatiful tree! :) Is this another Sierra?

Sorry. I just saw the other post. Prosrada :)

Did you collect this tree also? You seem to have an eye for what makes a juni. work.

I had posted a prior thread that went along with this, but they are now seperated which doesn't make this one very understandable. So I'll rewrite it here. Collection North in Oakland Calif has a yearly fundraiser and auction to raise money for the collection. They auction off surplus trees plus consignment trees from individuals. This was a consignment tree and was advertised as a San Jose juniper, which it is not. I believe that it is a prostrata. It was in an oversize pot with too many branches but has a great trunk and nebari. I bought it at the auction with the idea that I would be working with Ryan Neil in a couple of days. My friends thought that it was crap, and at the workshop others thought the same thing. Ryan and I discussed what brances to eliminate, and I spent the next 6 hours woring every branch. Ryan set the branches after I finished my part. Forgot to get a before picture. Picure one is the tree after a number of branches were cut, picture two is after I wired the tree, and picture three is Ryan setting the brances. So now if you go up to my first posting, you'll see the first styling completed. By the way, my firends have now all changed their minds about the tree

I was there, and I never saw it coming... One of the biggest things I (and probably most of us) have trouble with is what to do with very large branches. Ryan demonstrated some of the techniques used to deal with large branches on this tree, and it has improved greatly. I cant tell you how valuable this single workshop was to me, and how many amazing pointers and techniques I learned. I would spend another day with Ryan in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing the end product Bob.

Thanks for that backstory, it's always interesting to see where the tree has been.

Judy - I knew this could be a good tree, but like most of my material, I would not be able to bring out their full potential without Ryan's talent.
