Possible update on this tree? Bought one myself recently and just over a month ago I gave it a good chop. No sign of back budding yet and I'm getting a little anxious

Not to worry mate. They're as tough as nails. I chopped mine down low several times to get enough shoots to form multi trunks. That's how they grow naturally.
Give it some patience...it'll bounce back for ya

I live in New Zealand and these tree are grown on every street in my neighbourhood ( it's illegal to cut them down as they are regarded as Native in NZ )
