is on the way from idaho. I'm excited to see it as it's something I've worked with my stand maker on to be able to store flat and then reassemble to get stand to get height. It suppose to arrive friday but I'll be in spokane judging a koi show :( When i open it up Monday with my return I'll get some photos so you guys can see what I'm talking about. made from Peruvian Walnut. unfortunately we don't have much opportunity to do display work but I do so much at home, that i'll get my use out of it. this year was the first year of delving into shohin so i have a long way to go...this juniper maybe my most promising

Darn... hoping to see a Stand.

You should start a blog Dick, then you can update everyone daily ...

I was hoping to see a stand as well. But, nice tree. I thought that I liked bigger trees but as I get further into the art, I am feeling drawn towards shohin.

I have to be honest and say age is driving me into the smaller easier to handle shohin. I love a great big two person tree. But I am challenged as to how to take something so small and make it look olde.

Ya know, I wish I could start a blog but I'm not real computer savvy and i would suspect I'd have no understanding how to get one up and running. So I do apologise, but will have something for you on monday.

So I survived my trip to Spokane ( 4 plus hrs on the road) and according to my critics did an acceptable job of helping to judge their Koi Show.
I was too tired sunday night on the return to open my package that had arrived the friday before while I was enroute to the koi Show.
So I opened it up at 5 am this morning, too excited to see it then sleep. I was not disappointed. peruvian walnut and engineeered to put away flat in a storage box. My stand maker, Will King, from eagle Idaho is an amazing talent! I think the rest of the ramble i could make is best accomplished by just allowing you to be viewing the photos. Thank-you for your patience.

If we need some clarification, here it is...

In the first photo you see the four pieces. the top two fit together by dowells. The platform pieces are held together with the base and each other with allen wrenched screws.

I didn't have a proper place to display it properly nor trees ready for display but here's a couple pics to give a sense of what it might look like under proper conditions :)

Nice.

Only thing I will change is to have the center legs as one piece (esp the front piece). Maybe removable and just dowel inserted during assembly into the bottom planks. It will also work better as bolt area for your middle posts.

What are the dimensions of this stand?

One more. How much will it cost to order 5 posts so you can make the lower shelf higher? This was you have a choice.

Or just 3 posts same length as the one from middle to top...this way you can use that and the 3 new posts for the bottom and use of the bottom posts to the top.

I like flexibility esp if it is cheap. ;)

36 inches length, 20 inches tallest height (left), and second stand height from the base is 8 inches. ( right hand side)...

Dario, I think your suggestion is a good one and would have made it a cleaner look. it was both our first endeavor, so it can only get better on the next one. for now I'll have to live with it. ( we could have used you for our planning sessions :) ) thanks....

88, you slipped in after my response but again it would have been nice to have this kind of input
in advance. But like so many things of life, we learn as we go and it takes a villiage. thank-you for your creative ideas. :)

Glad you did not take offense. Maybe you can use it for next time. ;)
