Nice tree, I wish we had some where to purchase that type of material. You could take a dowel or metal rod and drive it through the root ball and repack with a good draining soil. I have done this on azaleas that I have purchased too late in the season to repot, it really helped.

Good move any time I see nice healthy Shimpaku material I get it. The tree looks like its in good shape. How is the soil? Wait a week and if you think it needs repotted then do it. Go easy on the root pruning.
