Need suggestions on what to do with stewartia

Yeah, can I put in an order now for one? Depending on the size and cost, of course :)
Prices range from $650 to $1700. There are four others not shown available at Jeff Shultz’s Hidden Gardens and on EBay via BonsaiSmith. The ones they have on consignment are pretty nice.

I went to Dave L’s place in December and he said you’d been there some time before. You have some nice stewartia going, and I’d be very interested to see how and when you do selection pruning. I pulled a tall thin one and it’s growing like gangbusters.

Big cuts in February, medium size branches too. Shoot thinning any time between leaf-out and September. You can follow my blog post about Stewartia for all the other timing; your weather is basically the same as Osaka for timing.

Awesome trees...still above my skill level though. I’m working on my skills with some reputable folks though ?
I would like one eventually though..

So sorry to reawaken this old thread but I was curious if anyone has saved the article that was linked on the first page http://bonsaiunearthed.com/fujikawa-kouka-en/stewartia-monadelpha/

It appears to be a dead link and it sounds like that article had some good information about Stewartia monadelpha. I just picked up a pretty little one the other day and I am doing all the research on them as I can.

Seconded! I have two I acquired over the past year and am trying to assure that I'm overwintering them properly.
