Need advise on the rosemary

How did you work on reducing the root ball? I hear they don’t like having their roots disturbed much.

I reduced this one in two stages, worked in from from the edges without bare rooting. I use a 2:1:1 soil mix and water it a lot, it dries out faster than any of my other trees. It came from nursery stock btw.
