Hey all.

I just picked up this beauty for what I think is a good deal, these are not common at all in Canada. Got it home and put it in to an akadama mix with some pumice. Took a front branch off blocking the main trunk. I didn't cut roots except for two chunky ones under the soil. I out it in a round drum pot giving it much room to grow. Cut the shoots back to help to roots while they may be shocked a bit.
I am happy to see where this goes in the next 3 to 5 years.

I will probably end up putting an elm or PA into the dragon pot. Also tried to propagate 6 cuttings I will see if they take.

Thanks for looking

Cool tree! That’s a heck of a nebari that it’s got started!

Kinda looks like this was a fusion project. Any idea if that's the case?
There was no fusion, it's how they grow them in Vietnam, they grow them over round hard plastic to get the roots to flair out and then leave them in the ground for a couple years and cut back. There is no grafting anywhere

Righton; it just looked like the lines from the roots continued up the trunk.

O a clump style haha sorry I should have known. No this is one plant but I believe they do a root air layer on these ones and then plant them on a disk.

I tried to do the same thing with 10 x Kowhai trees but forgot about it over Winter . Transfered to some new soil hoping it re-covers
