Hey guys I was really excited to see my Seiju elm arrive today, plans for this tree are following:

Since I really like the style of @Eric Schrader 's plants, I wanted to style it in somwhat of these styles:

Of course more refined than this one.

Heres the young plant I got, it cost me only 7,30€ at a belgian nursery (which btw ships to all Europe), so If you want to pick up one, heres the link

My tree (unfortuately in poor lightning, since I just unpacked it and havent brought it into the garden, also its very cloudy here today):

I checked on the rootbase, and these seem to be cuttings....

Lets empty their Stock together 😂, cause its such a nice cultivar I think!

I really like Seiju too. Small leaves, short internodes and thick, corky bark. Seiju makes great shohin and mame sized bonsai or larger trees.

Seiju is a cultivar of Chinese elm so it must be propagated as cuttings or layers. Seed would probably revert to normal Chinese elm. At the very least, seedlings would be a new form and not real Seiju. It grows easily as stem cuttings and also as root cuttings so when you eventually root prune you can save the offcuts and grow some more trees. Root cuttings give the opportunity to grow trunks with unusual bends.
