Wow! Very nice progression. One of the best true San Jose I have seen on this forum in my opinion.

Good to see you yesterday, wish we had more time. This is a fun tree, with deadwood and trunk movement far better than these photos show.

I was thinking about the San Jose after our conversation about the Harry Itoigawa, and the western "need" to visually balance the foliage/apex. This could be a bold look at some point.

Brian, I really like that virt. It's definitely something I'm going to consider...though my design options have been temporarily limited by the buzz cut inflicted on the apex. By the way, thanks for hooking me up with the lava and hanging out for a bit...fun as always.

This one was repotted a few weeks ago into a shallow Bigei oval with nail heads. I like the way it fits the tree. It's due to get a trim in a few weeks.

This one is getting cleaned up for our club show next week...late start but it's cleaning up well so far.
