After a week off due to a bout with E-Coli, I decided to treat myself with a purchase of some quality material.

What drew me was the pot. It is a combination of pot and display stump all in one. The carving on the planter is detailed yet natural. I love the knot detail. The juniper inside has much potential, and I am excited to see what I come up with in its new design.

As a bonus, the soil line came with a superior Japanese garden lantern right there in the pot. While this is not as large as I would have wanted for my yard, I can enjoy it right here in this new purchase.

I got all this for $240.00 FOB China. I paid $10.00 for the planting and $230.00 freight.

I plan on putting some wire on this soon.

Classic.
I'm glad this time the pink is a tee shirt and not underwear.
I think you've made a fine purchase. You should keep combing the roadside bonsai stands for more J nana with potential.
I love the action styling photos.

Well I guess you are feeling better cause your are back to your old self! LOL! You do look like you have slimmed down some.

Yes you do look much better in pink shirts than other stuff...

I feel another eBay masterpiece is in the making... Smoke's best bonsai with lightweight rebar feature

Happy April Fool's day to you too, Al!

Dario - that looks like a bonsai version of a Treetop Adventure Park :D

well, i'd air layer it.

and then thread graft it.

and then air layer it again.

i mean, i've been doing this for over 13 months. by "doing this" i mean, posting on message boards. hold on a minute and i'll do a quick virt.

Wow, that is a stunning piece of material. I hope you don't mind, but I've thrown together a quick virt of where I can see this tree at if you continue doing what you're doing. Keep in mind, bonsai is all about patience, so this is a long-term vision for the tree; it could take months for it to reach this point. I do think it has the potential, though.

Funny, I bought the exact same thing. Paid $20 for the tree and the same for shipping. They told me that it was one of a kind!!!

Thanks for the laugh.
