Hi!
My friend gave me a ficus ginseng for my birthday a month ago. After a week I noticed it started to drop leaves. Some of them were yellow so I reduced the watering. After two weeks I noticed some fungus gnats. I put some cinnamon in the soil and I stopped watering. One week later After removing the cinnamon I watered again. The fungus gnats were few but still there. Most of the ficus had lost leaves. I touched the trunk/roots and they were very soft. After reading a couple of posts here I decided to cut the soft roots and surprisingly there was no wood inside. It was all soil and these little insects (that I don’t know what they were) were all inside (see pictures please). All the roots were full of them. Do you know what were the insects? I assume the ficus is dead (or should I try something before throwing it?)
