I've already repotted many trees out of season. Later on I've learnt it's possible with some species. Some repots were so called emergency, some mallsais in bad soil bought in a bad time of year... Carmona in november is the latest one I can remember...
I think aftercare is very important and maybe better protection during its first winter.

Yes I did too. I also think the species is really important as well as the aftercare.
Let's say that when it's the right timing the chances of survival increase but that doesn't mean it's doomed from the start in case of bad timing
