I think the views into this thing could be very intriguing once it's full of branches and foilage.

At the rate they go a couple weeks and you might not have any views. But I think it will look cool when all is done.
 
Im glad its doing its thing and still keeping on keeping on! Theres so much going on here....what do you think for the long run? What are your plans for this beast?
 
I'll eliminate a couple stumps and shorten them all next year. This year it just gets to grow unchecked to build some roots. It had close to none by the time I got it into the collander.
I see an entrance into a spooky old forest here. Maybe with a Sasquatch peering from around the trunk of a tree.
 
Isn't it? If you look at the roots I had left after digging it out there are only a couple hairs for feeder roots. It was basically a block of wood stuffed into the collander. It barely had room for soil. I really didn't think it would live. Any other species except for trident maple probably would have gave up the ghost long ago.
Elm trees are amazing things.
