So popped out today after deciding last night, after a few pints of bow, to do a forest planting with some small junipers.. well a false Cypress caught my eye so in the interest of not spending too much the forest is down to two little common carpet junipers and a little picea. Big terracotta dish, some drift wood and off I go..

Here is the false cypress.

And, as promised @connerdash , here is the "Yamadori" ...

(Edit: forgot to attach the pic)

Last week out with the family, walking the dog, this little guy was sitting on the side of a foot path. Give him gentle tug and popped right out of the ground. My fault so I supposed I better put him in a pot.. the council would have mowed him anyway before long..

Nice little Juniper green carpets aren't they?

Post up some pictures when it's all planted up!
I'm playing with the idea of doing a few small air layers on bits of various maples I've got and making a little forest. Probably end up as a bunch of sticks in a big pot but it's all fun!

Moving along..

Drilled the pot.

Applied lime sulphur to the two bits of drift wood and cut to size.. oh my god that stuff is unholy.. it's all I can smell. It's all I can taste. Evil.

Stopped for the mo to watch last night's fortitude and have some dinner.. she made omelets.. "yeah lovely darling" gagging from egg with the lime sulphur taste.

Now 11:50pm so throwing the towel in for tonight.

The little pine took ages. So dense. Running out of wire so not optimal. Not sure if I've applied the lime sulphur heavily enough.

Not really touched the juni's yet. Will carry on tomorrow.

bah. I've passed this in the last couple of days and it not floating my boat... Should i call it quits and get them in some grow pots?

Hey,

The junipers I see those kinda things all the time in garden centres, never thought they could be used like that. Just assumed too small and not interesting enough but the whole forest idea is very cool.
I like what you created here, its a cool idea. Maybe some more pics of the trunks of those little guys and different angles etc. Also this thread hasn't had many people post yet, may have done better in the juniper category of forum.
You spelt my name wrong btw lol, I just happened to see this. When you @ someone, after doing @ and typing a few letters, it auto searches them and you can click the person. @Con is enough to find me and some guy called "concorde".
Any ways, looks cool. I like this idea.
I also told you I would share more pics of the pyracantha but the image hosting site I use is currently not working well, so not got access to them. Will post a few pics when I can
