My thoughts exactly. I think.I have no business giving input on design but what the hell. I'm just not good at it.
The large lower branch sticks out to me, out of proportion with the rest of the tree. Changing the angle will leave a wishbone look, right? Thoughts on reducing or removing it entirely? I think if removed the remaining tree might look nice with the slant and tight foliage.
What were your thoughts?
Straighten it up to semi cascade and get rid of the bow in the upper tree, bend or add pads to disguise the curve. That's what I would do. I would not get rid of anything.
Best,
Dorothy
How about this?
How about something like this. Obviously the second picture would need more growing to achieve the second bottom branch. But the first picture you could get close to with wiring and some raffia and heavy bending at the apex.

I'd be tempted to cut off everything above the first or second branch on the top part, incline the angle up somewhat and out of the soil, and shorten the bottom branch. I'd like to reduce the visual appearance of the "wishbone" but without some lower buds to work with on the top part, it would be difficult. My 2 cents fwiw.
