I have a nursery stock Mugo Pine that's currently in a 2 gallon pot (I think) with a roughly 4in circumference trunk. I'm trying to determine what size pond basket I should be putting this into.
The smallest one you can fit it in. The goal is to get fine rooting in the core of the basket, below the trunk.
But sacrificing too many roots to make it fit can be a problem, so I want to propose you buy a couple sizes and see what works.
