I guess i'm scratching my head with that one, logically thinking how would pollen cones be a sign of stress? You can clearly see the needles have nice growth also. Not talking from exp just was thinking about it.

It's one that survived.

I collected 2 white pines last fall....they were stressed out. They never had cones and died this spring/summer drying out.

I left my aloe out till it browned...
Brought it back in...
Greened...now it has "pups".

Same principle....
A stressed plant will do what it has to in order to live on.

Sometimes....
Death happens before it can respond!
