Mateo’s Acorn to Oak Tree Thread

I picked these white oak acorns (Q. Alba) at a local nature preserve and float tested them.

I planted and will let them stratify naturally in my seedling box.

Have fun fighting the squirls, haha!

I used to have a yard full of native species including Willow Oak so I figured it would make great bonsai for its durability. Well, I dug a few and they dont like root disturbance very much from what I can tell. I did still get a few to make it and one from a acorn. Holler if interested in one!

I got a good germination on my acorns. All are doing great in my squirrel proof box.

Looks like I have plenty of oaks to play with! I will transplant them next spring and start juicing them with fertilizer.

Here they are today. Still growing along and thanks to my elevated box, the roots are getting air purned
