look at this pomegranate bark!

Oh I am looking. I have a young one. Going to have to find and dig though. The crappy nurseries around here don't carry them.
Surprising! I was in Queretaro last week and I have seen old pomegranates all the time; Got a little jealous

Baja Sur is the outback. Todos Santos is the out out back. Probably I can find some in Cabo, or La Paz but I don't go in there that often: it is a trek. You never know. Queretaro or San Diego de Queretaro is only 132 miles N.W. of Mexico City. So they get supplied with everything. Here shipping is the deal. Either from the mainland, by ferry (most stuff),,or 1000 miles down the peninsula. believe me, the so called nurseries here are not well supplied. Unless you want a crappy Bougie with a straight trunk, or yet another Benjie, cause they never carry other figs. I know, bitch, bitch ,bitch.! But then you have winter.

Yeah, I know. Mex is a big place :D

Here we are heading into winter. Why did you remind me. What have I done to you ;)

Sorry! You live in a very beautiful place though. Like me. Don't tell anybody, but I sometimes yearn for a big arm chair in front of the fireplace and a picture window showing me all the pines and skeleton maples and oaks laden with snow!

Was it good?
Most of people said that we must not let the pomegranate fruit remain on the tree too long because it can kill the branch which carry the fruit! However, I never experience that problem.
It is too sour for me!

I took the pictures this afternoon.

Last year branch tip which carried the fruit was died back.

The branch has one flower bud at this time

I will let other branches go unchecked.

The flower started opening up this morning. You can see most of flower buds only appears at the tip of the short branches (yellow mark).

The tree has another flower bud

It means that you have to pay attention to pruning the tree, if you want your pomegranate has flower buds.
Because this tree is small, I will only let one fruit stay to avoid detriment to the tree health.
