Good natural curves already present. Worry about taper not needed in Literati. Overthinking/bowing to mainstream rules is big mistake. Personally vastly prefer finer Aleppo needles than jbp. Be aware Aleppo can be attacked by root rot fungus more easily than many pines. Excellent drainage a must.

Please just take this as my opinion and not un-constructive criticism.

To me this tree looks too much like a supermarket Bonsai, the trunk curve is very typical and wouldn't make an interesting Literati.

I would look at creating an Informal upright, using the new apex out of the first branch.

Just my two cents.
