Leptinella squalida 'Platt's Black'...Brass Buttons

That new pot is gonna look good with your azalea.

Nice plant!

"Jeepers Creepers" - Gulley out in Colorado has those in their Jeepers Creepers series. My Wife likes that Platt's as well and it is the only plant so far in her tiny fairy garden. It looks cool and honest a lot better the way you planted it!

Thanks Grimmy! Great minds and all that. Soooo is Crystal's fairy garden a container garden or in the landscape?

It's a very tiny pot...2" square maybe. Love the accent plant. But have another garden planting I grabbed...not sure if it would take stuck into nooks and crannies of our stone wall. Got one to test it out...if it comes back next spring then I will tuck more in and around the wall.

It is a neat plant and your use is great :)

Crystal planted it and put some Fairy Garden stuff in a pot out front in her garden to contain any growth of additional plants. It is pretty simple right now but to late for me to take a picture as I am deep into cooking dinner

I will post a picture tomorrow!

@Cadillactaste How did these work out in a container? Are they invasive? How deep do the roots go?

I'm thinking of using them as ground cover in a bonsai pot, as well as for accents. I've got this variety and another dwarf variety that has extremely tiny fronds.

They did well in a container. I never repotted it. Had it a couple years ... then there was a mishap. I can't even recall what. Something my husband did. I can't recall ...and it's frustrating now. Maybe wintering... I lost many container plants one winter as he forgot to water those. Thinking only the trees needed it.

Sad to hear your little planting didn't make it. I got a little pot last spring and enjoyed them all summer and fall. They died right before the first frost. I'm glad to hear they return every year because I really wanted to use it in a forest composition of hornbeam. I think used wisely they could be a knock in say a bald cypress forest or redwood. I was wondering if you knew how fast they spread. They have the same mechanisms that bamboo uses two spread. I don't necessarily want the whole forest floor populated with these cut little guys ya know.
