I'm certain I've already posted about this one, but a search with larix+AlainK, or larch+AlainK did'nt return any result.

So, it's one of my oldest "bonsai", though it's about 40 cm tall (1 foot and 1/3rd of a foot), bought from a batch of 2-3 yr-old seedlings in 1994.

Had I known the "rules", I wouldn't have shaped it this way, but I don't regret it, to me it has a "Chinese" feel.

The oldest photo I have, August 2003:

Two pages worth of hits

But no matter, it is a nice tree - somewhat lanky, but a nice form for exhibiting its bark. I can imagine some interesting future design possibilities with some longer lower branches.

I think I will bring to our local exhibit next autumn. We always have some "demos"and some of our club members know what they're talking about (see the link I posted about "grafting junipers and pines").

Selecting the branches, bending them downward the way an old larch looks like, getting rid of a lot of the "jin-ten" that fits no more the design, etc. I'm sure it will be fun

Took a pic before sunset. It's about 1m30 from the bottom of the pot to the top :
