Kashirahoma no tatsumaki - Ponderosa Pine

We were honored to be asked to have a private exhibit... it's a delight to be able to share our love and enthusiasm... not to mention the fruits of our labors. I'm so gratified that you enjoy the tree.

Warmly,

V

Maybe an alternative name using the same pronunciation with different characters is
頭穂間の竜巻 Kashirahoma no Tatsumaki.
Kashira is the head or top...
Ho is a scion of a graft
Ma is the interim, interval, gap, break, space etc...

Tatsumaki leave as tornado.

The meaning being that through this tornado the head scion will come...
I have never heard the term kashi used for Ok in Japanese, but it can have an alternative meaning of blemish flaw or defect...かし 《瑕疵》
Which probably is not the best descriptor for this bonsai.

Bless you... I like your interpretation perfectly.... In fact I love it. I would enjoy to see it as a scroll in fact..... :D

Kashi as Kathy explained it is Oak. She wasn't trying for 'Ok'. The 'ra' of it was related to to the fact that 'la' doesn't exist in their pronunciation.... and homa is well.... homa. lol

As I said... it was a play on trying to make the state name into a Japanese sounding word.

But what you did... that's elegant... and incredibly appreciated. It speaks to my soul. It's a wonderful idea to have Kathy's playfulness, and your interpretive imagery.

You should pm me with what that would cost as a scroll. :)

Warmly,

Victrinia

WOW! That is just beautiful! The pot is perfect as well. Almost looks like a Sonny Boggs pot. Thanks for the inspiration.
