Japonicus
Imperial Masterpiece
I've always wanted an Aoi, so when I saw this one on eBay last week
given the decent low graft and stage of development of the tree, the price was right.
Woulda been nice if it were already transitioned to bonsai soil, so this Spring, I will begin that.
It was pretty clean really, and rather healthy. Didn't take long to clean out the dead needles.
The seller said the tree had not been repotted on their watch for at least 2 years. Have not looked under the hood yet,
but time to order some more akadama soon.
