Sorry if this has been posted before, I can't find it and don't have the time to search every thread and web page on P-nana.

Do older P-nana readily backbud on old wood (> 0.75-1 inch diameter)?

I came across a nice trunk and nebari on a poodle juniper P-nana but I don't know how possible/easy it is to get backbudding and be worth dealing with it?

Thanks

I agree. Procumbens nana does not bud back very well at all.

I have a literati style that occasionally puts out a sprout near the base of the trunk and that's about it.

Lol this thread got lost in the server migration and I had posted another...

In any case, I had already decided to not deal with that juniper.

Meanwhile I did find a couple of very nice San Jose junipers for half the price of the aforementioned P. nana.
One of them has a 2-3" diameter trunk and has been dubbed the "OMG it has a trunk" juniper :)
