I started a batch of JBP seeds last spring (2023). Here's where they are today:
I think this is the most promising one so far:
I'm amazed at how much they grew in a season. This is some of them in April 2024:
Since I have plenty of these I'm planning to try two different strategies for development. The sacrificial leader approach I've seen extensively on this site for Shohin JBPs. And a slower, clip & grow, cutting back the trunk each season to add movement and taper gradually.
