yeh at this stage wiring doesnt have to be intricate, youre just setting basic primary structure to go up n out, they will thicken quicker this way. what you want to try n do is get a bend at each node or very close to.
doing similar with mine. shoots are extending 2in past where i wired now and turning woody...

Not been around much lately - on school holidays but been very busy! Mainly sorting some house bits and taken up a new hobby - stargazing!

Anyway... Little update on this one, growing well. Need to cut /smooth over a few lumps and bumps here and there.

Edit - few branches maybe don't have enough movement as @BobbyLane suggested - need to address that too

Tried to smooth out a few lumps at bumps today, main one was the large one on the right trunk. Think I made a decent start on it, looks a bit better to me anyway.

Need to wire some branches still and rethink positioning of a few I already have
